Why We Started LEDartWORKS

Five years ago, co-founders Nick Thorley and Scott Zimmerman set out on a mission: to create stunning and personalized LED-lit art. It was an ambitious goal, and much like many artists before us, we ran into struggles along the way.

From color accuracy to frame construction, from media quality to equipment limitations, we faced challenge after challenge. But we didn’t quit. Well... we did take a small hiatus to regroup—but regrouping isn’t quitting. It was a time to reflect, refine, and find better ways to deliver the results we had envisioned from the start. And then, like a cake finally ready to come out of the oven, the proverbial alarm (or in this case, the light) went off—it was time to launch.

Overcoming Challenges, Embracing the Future

The road to this point wasn’t without obstacles. Each issue presented an opportunity to learn, improve, and innovate. We truly believe in this amazing technology and art style we have developed, and we’re thrilled to finally share it with the world.

Throughout these five years, many people have come in and out of our lives, each playing a role in helping us get to where we are today. And that brings us to this moment: Launch Day.

A Personal Touch in Our Art

One of the things that makes LED Art Works unique is that our art is deeply personal to us. Nick has an affinity for Mini Coopers, while Scott got his start in business by making parts for the 1994-1996 Impala SS. You might notice a nod to these passions in some of our early artwork. But that’s just the beginning.

Through low-level crowdsourcing, we discovered that the golf, transportation, and faith-based markets all hold incredible potential for unique, high-quality LED art. But trust us—we aren’t stopping there.
